Bath comes up short in Region 2 legion championship game

http://www.mcall.com/sports/baseball/mc-bath-legion-regionals-0725-20120725,0,7289381.story FROM THE MORNING CALL WEST LAWN — When Ed Albertson came to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning and Bath trailing by a run, he saw what every other teammate did at some point during Wednesday's Region 2 American Legion championship game — baserunners. Albertson, who pitched Bath into the final with a complete-game gem earlier in the day, wasn't alone when he couldn't bring home his mates. Joe Monaghan drove in two runs and scored what turned out to be the winning run in the top of the ninth and Ryan Clow picked up his third save of the tournament by getting the last out of Doylestown's 5-4 victory at Owls Field. Doylestown (30-7-2), winner of its first regional title, advances to the state tournament, which starts Tuesday in Boyertown.
