Tatamy firefighter challenge fails to draw participants

http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/nazareth/index.ssf/2012/06/tatamy_fire_company_contest_fa.html FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES It was the heat. Or maybe it was the festival in Wind Gap, or the community event in Forks Township. Whatever happened, of 15 fire departments the Tatamy Fire Company invited to its first skill challenge, only Pen Argyl’s company showed up. But Tatamy Fire Chief Shawn McDonald rolled with the punches. “Originally we were supposed to be hosting, but due to the lack of participation, my guys and Pen Argyl merged and put on demonstrations,” McDonald said. He also said the fire department will bring back the annual parade that the skills challenge replaced this year after more than 80 years.
