Easton Area High School girls 400 relay sets regional record in PIAA track and field championships

http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/05/easton_area_high_school_sets_r.html FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES Easton Area High School's girls 400-meter relay can't miss setting records. The last two times the Red Rover quartet of sophomore Savannah Buckley, seniors Kenesha Brown and Damirah Graham and junior Kiana Farrar took to the track, they set school and regional records. But another mark seemed unlikely in today's Class AAA final race at the PIAA track and field championships at Seth Grove Stadium at Shippensburg University. Easton was stuck all the way out in lane eight and, while sprinters often revel in the heat, temperatures nearing the century mark on the stadium's frying pan-hot artificial turf seemed excessive even for short-distance runners. NOTES: In other finals today, Saucon Valley's Elizabeth Chikotas took 10th in the Class AAA 1,600 (5:01.02) and Emmaus' Hanna Brosky ninth in the Class AAA 800 (2:15.44) ... Palmerton's Lauryn Solt (32-4) and Wilson's (31-7 1/2) were 27th and 28th in the AA long jump ... Palmerton's Kelsey Hay was 10th in the AA javelin (125-6) ... Parkland's Laura Gulliver finished 10th in the AAA pole vault (11-0) and Allen's Julia Molloy was 18th (10-6) ... Northern Lehigh's Aimee Oertner (37-4 3/4) and Wilson's Gab Carson (37-4) were 11th and 12th in the AA shot put ... Nazareth's Jane Lukas was 24th (33-11) in the AAA triple jump ... Northwestern's Rachele Cerrone was 24th in the Class AAA 3,200 (12:09.40) and Moravian Academy's Emily Smith 25th in AA (12:39.90).
