Sands Bethlehem Events Center to include high-end nightclub

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

The Sands Bethlehem Events Center will include a high-end nightclub and bar, officials announced today.

Vision Bar will fill the void at Sands for a high-end nightclub that many Las Vegas and Atlantic City casinos have, said Jerry Deifer, co-founder of Vision Entertainment Group, which is partnering with Sands on the events center.

Both the bar and events center, which also will host conventions, are scheduled to open in May, Deifer said.

“This will be true Vegas, Atlantic City nightlife style venue,” he said. “I think the whole 126-acre site is becoming more of a destination but the nightclub was missing.”

The region as a whole, actually, is void of high-end nightclubs, Deifer said. One was approved in January 2009 at the former First United Church of Christ on West Fourth Street in Bethlehem but it has yet to be built.

Vision Bar will be open every night, whether a concert is being held at the events center or not, Deifer said. Some nights will cater to the 21-to-35-year-old crowd while other nights will feature attractions for the over-35 crowd, he said.

“It’ll adapt to different genres,” he said.

In all, the 10,000-square-foot venue will have two large marble bars, a private mezzanine level, VIP bottle service, an outdoor terrace and four large televisions featuring state-of-the-art interactive entertainment.

Sands Bethlehem President Robert DeSalvio called the nightclub another benefit to Sands’ partnership with Vision Entertainment Group.

“Overall, we could not be more thrilled with the opportunity to present our guests with an experience like Vision Bar and the Sands Bethlehem Event Center,” he said in a statement.

Vision is expected to make announcements soon on the event center’s opening concert lineup, Deifer said. The 3,500-person concert facility, connected with major concert promoter Live Nation, is expected to be similar to venues at Borgata in Atlantic City and Tower Theatre outside of Philadelphia.
