Nazareth police seek thief who stole elderly woman's purse

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Nazareth police say a man snatched an elderly woman's purse away from her Saturday and took off running.

Police say a man approached a 94-year-old woman about 11 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of West North Street in the Moravian Hall Square retirement community and snatched her purse.

The thief ran off on North Church Street toward the Nazareth Borough Park, police said.

The victim was not injured and refused medical aid, police said.

Chief Thomas Trachta said the thief is believed to be a white man, approximately 18 or 19 years old and 5 feet 7 inches tall with curly red hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a grey, purple and maroon-colored hooded sweatshirt.

Police ask anyone who saw anything suspicious on West North Street to call Nazareth police at 610-759-9575.
