Easton Area School District will be closed Monday due to anticipated weather problems

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

The Easton Area School District has announced school and district offices will be closed Monday in anticipation of problems caused by Hurricane Irene.

Additionally, there will be a half day Tuesday and Wednesday for kindergarten through fourth grade, according to the district website.

"We have decided to be proactive considering the anticipated power outages, flooding and possible facility damage," the district site reads.

No other local districts had announced closures as of 6:30 on Saturday evening, but Nazareth Area School District Superintendent Victor Lesky said a determination will be made Monday morning as to whether a half-day orientation for kindergarten and grades 4, 7 and 9 scheduled for that day will be held.
