Phillie Phanatic says he's fine after getting pelted by foul ball at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

The Phillie Phanatic says he's OK after getting hit by a line drive during the Lehigh Valley IronPigs game Wednesday night at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown.

Tom Burgoyne, who has been the man beneath the furry green costume for more than 20 years, posted a message today on his Facebook page:

"Hi Everybody - Thanks for all of your posts, texts and emails," he said. "The Phanatic is fine. He took one off the neck last night at the Iron Pigs game. Since we're soooo close, I felt his pain and have a nice golf ball-sized knot just above my eye."

Burgoyne then hinted that the Phanatic will be ready and back in action at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia for a homestand that starts Friday night.

"Bring on the A's this weekend - the Phanatic will be ready!" Burgoyne posted.

The Phanatic, making an appearance at the IronPigs' game Wednesday night in Allentown, was performing near the first base dugout in the third inning when he was struck by a foul ball.

The ball hit the Phanatic's neck, which is Burgoyne's head.
