FROM THE MORNING CALL

The persistent rain has again forced the postponement of the Lehigh Valley Conference baseball semifinals.

Wednesday's scheduled doubleheader will now take place Thursday. Start times remain the same, so No. 3 Emmaus will take on No. 2 Parkland to start the doubleheader at 4:30 p.m. at Sammy Balliet Stadium. No. 4 Liberty will play No. 1 Nazareth at 7:05 p.m.

The LVC title game, which was originally scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, does not have a time or date yet. The Weather Channel's web site currently calls for showers Thursday morning and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon, with a 60 percent chance of rain for the day. Friday's forecast also calls for a 60 percent chance of rain, so we may not see any high school baseball played until the weekend arrives.
