Liberty, Bethlehem Catholic high schools advance to Lehigh Valley Conference softball final

There will be a Bethlehem flavor to the Lehigh Valley Conference softball championship 2 p.m. Sunday at Patriots Park in Allentown.

Liberty and Bethlehem Catholic high schools both advanced to the final with semifinal wins today at Parkland High School.

The top-seeded Hurricanes used seven runs in the second and third innings propel them to a 7-1 victory over Emmaus.

Kiana Kieper went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple and three runs batted in for Liberty. Alyshia Dellatorre added three hits and Erin Wilson struck out seven and allowed three hits for the Hurricanes.

Bethlehem Catholic, the second seed, beat Northampton 4-1 behind Joelle Morey's 10 strikeouts and one walk in a complete-game victory.

The Golden Hawks scored all their runs in the fourth inning, with three of them coming on a three-run triple by left fielder Lauren Visconti.
