Propelled by two strong pitching performances by Joelle Morey, the Bethlehem Catholic softball team defeated Freedom and Easton in a doubleheader to decide the final spot in the Lehigh Valley Conference playoffs today at Patriots Park.

The Golden Hawks defeated Freedom 3-1 and shutout the Red Rovers 6-0.

"I'm very proud of our girls, we really hung in there and played two on a hot day," Bethlehem Catholic coach Rich Mazza said. "It was a little tough here today but we really stepped it up."

Morey drove in four runs against Easton, coming though with two hits with the bases loaded.

Bethlehem Catholic clinched the LVC wild card and will play Northampton 5 p.m. Monday. Liberty takes on Emmaus at 7 p.m. in the other semifinal.
