Easton-Phillipsburg football game walking routes, parking restrictions released

Easton police have released a recommended walking route, as well as road closures and parking restrictions for the Thanksgiving Day Easton-Phillipsburg football game.

Police recommend the following walking route: High Street, Monroe Street and Pierce Street to McCartney Street; McCartney Street to College Avenue; College Avenue to North Third Street; Service Street to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission Bridge.

Police warn all fans to stay on the sidewalks and avoid cutting through Lafayette College's campus. Easton police, as well as state police from Pennsylvania and New Jersey, will patrol the route before and after the game.

There will be no parking or driving in the following areas from 6 a.m. Thursday until the end of the game, with the exception of vehicles with authentic parking passes or handicapped tags:

Dietrich Road from Bushkill Drive to Pierce Street
Pierce Street from Dietrich Road to Hamilton Street
Hamilton Street between Pierce and High streets

Parking on the Markle parking deck, which is accessed from High Street, will be restricted to those with parking passes. Parking on the Sullivan parking deck, which is accessed from Bushkill Drive/Sullivan Road, is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
