FROM DEAN BEERS

There will be three District 11 teams traveling for their state quarterfinals, and one of them staying near home.

Northern Lehigh is the fortunate team to be staying close to home, as they will facing off against D12 Champion West Catholic, Friday night at 7pm, at J. Birney Crum Stadium, in one of the State quarterfinals.

The semi-suprising news comes from the Class 3A bracket, as Central Catholic will travel to Kemp Memorial Stadium in Shamokin on Friday night, to play District 9 champion Clearfield. The kickoff for this game is at 7pm.

The District 11 Class A champion, the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes, will travel up north to Valley View high school in Peckville to play District 2 champion Riverside. The kickoff for this game is also at 7pm.

The Red Rovers of Easton, the District 11 Class 4A champion, will travel south to Philadelphia, to play at Northeast HS. There, they will take on LaSalle College HS, Saturday afternoon at 1pm.
