FREDDY'S ANNOUNCE NAMES

It"s Freddy time again. For nine years, high schools throughout the Lehigh Valley and Warren County, N.J., have staged musicals that compete in the Freddy Awards created by the State Theatre in Easton.

This year's Freddy season already began in October when Salisbury High School presented "State Fair."

For the majority of the 29 competing schools, the shows kick off March, although two high schools - Moravian Academy and Blair Academy both will stage the princess and the pea musical "Once Upon a Mattress" in February.

Things really heat up in March, except at Bangor, where the students are performing the holiday musical "White Christmas." Shows range from the beloved classics of "The Sound of Music" and "Fiddler on the Roof" to edgy newer shows including "Sweeny Todd" and "Rent." Last year"s best musical winner, Southern Lehigh is doing murder mystery musical "Curtains." Here is the list of schools and performances.
